Luther Thorne Memorial Primary School Coach Nathaniel Boyce is quietly confident of good results as school tackles the opposition in the National Primary School Athletic Championship (NAPSAC)?finals at the Usain Bolt Stadium today.

He made the comment as he and some the athletes received uniforms from McEnearneyQuality Inc. (MQI) in a ceremony in the Kia Showroom of the Wildey-based auto dealership yesterday.

He said that the school will be fielding strong teams and he is expected Jalen Callender, who is third in the national high jump among the boys to make his presence during today’s action.

“It is open season, but I am looking for our Class 3 high jump athlete Jalen Callender to do well. he has been pretty good all season long and he and our team will be out there to give of our best”, the coach noted.

MQI officials Clintona Norville and Rhonda Durant, who made the presentation to the coach and students, said the company is please to support the young athletes and that MQI has always supported the school.

“We will be at the track to give more support, not only to the athletes on the track, but to the entire school since they are our neighbours and wish them well”, the MQI officials added.

Norville said too, that it is not only the company’s social commitment to the society in which it operates,  but also a strong presence in the future development of the youth of Barbados.

The day’s action will start at 10 am with the parade of teams from the competing school being allowed a minimum of five athletes in the parade.
