Crop Over Kings, Queen get keys

"I feel great to have come this far... I'm happy but yet still humble”.

The comment from Pic-o-De Calpyso Monarch Queen Aziza as she joined Party Monarch Ricky ‘Lil Rick’ Reid and Sweet Soca Monarch Edwin Yearwood to receive the keys to the cars they won during this year’s CropOvr Festival from multi-brand dealer McEnearney Quality Inc’s (MQI).

Sales and Marketing Manager Margaret Hoyte, presented the keys in the presence of representatives from the National Cultural Foundation (NCF).

Lil Rick walked away with  Kia Cerato Hatchback, while Sweet Soca ‘King’ Edwin Yearwood got to drive away in a new Kia Cerato sedan, while first time Pic-O-De-Crop winner Aziza Clarke collected the keys to a Mazda 3.

Each monarch sat in their respective vehicle and got a feel for what it would be like,  when they hit the road.

Lil Rick and Edwin will drive away their cars, but Queen Aziza now has to get a driver’s licence,  but that did not take away her joy at the morning presentation at the Wildey headquarters of MQI.

Lil Rick has plans to drive his car for a short while,  and then pass it on to his son,  Super Hype.  “I want to see how it's perking first, but I am also happy to be back in the winner’s circle. I had a lil break from winning but I feel good to take home one of these Kias",  he quipped.

Edwin  said, "I feel real good... I plan to keep it... I driving that," was how he responded.

And they all said that they will be back next year.
