Driving Towards Excellence

McEnearney Quality Inc (MQI) is investing in upgrades and big changes in a concentrated effort to become the #1 After Sales Service provider and enable them to offer world class service to their customers.

Sean Lashley, newly appointed Aftersales Manager, who is just one of only 2 fully qualified Automotive Engineers on the island, joined the MQI team late last year. He has direct responsibility for managing and coordinating the after sales operations of Parts, Service/Workshop and Collision Repair Departments.  Lashley brings over 30 years of top quality experience of the Automotive Industry internationally. Acknowledging that customer service standards within the Caribbean can be inconsistent, he has been re-organising his team to ensure that providing an excellent customer experience at MQI is at the heart of the operation.

By introducing dedicated Brand Specialists across the Service Department, Lashley has been able to offer a higher level of knowledge and quality of information and communication throughout the service department operation.

This has in turn created opportunities for career development and promotion which as seen the following appointments and promotions.

•    Jason Marshall – Assistant Manager – FORD/MAZDA/BMW
•    Tricia Rogers – Assistant Manager – KIA
•    Mario Boyce – Assistant Manager – Aftersales Administration
•    Daniel Christie – BMW Brand Sales & Service

Amongst a number of small but significant changes that have been implemented in recent months is that both Sales and Service activities are handled exclusively through the BMW showroom on the eastern side of the Wildey complex.

It means that BMW and Mini customers simply drive in and park in front of the BMW showroom. It’s quick and easy for BMW and Mini customers and has been a win-win in that it has also freed up the KIA, FORD and MAZDA Service teams allowing them to also attend to those customers faster and with better knowledge.

Mr. Lashley confirmed feedback had been very positive and gave a recent example from customer David Self, President & Chief Executive Officer, CIBC Reinsurance Company. He said: ‘this is the kind of experience I have been wanting from MQI for 3 years. Please keep this up. I will spread the word that things are changing at MQI’.

Lashley went on to explain; ‘In the parts department we have doubled the size of our warehouse, so we can now stock considerably more and a greater selection of parts. It’s part of our commitment to customers to improve the availability of parts.  We are working towards increasing our ability to fulfil our customers’ needs immediately. This has been an issue for us since the size of our warehouse was reduced a few years back; as our stock now arrives for the expanded Parts Department we are already seeing improvements in availability and reduction of lead times for parts needing to be ordered.’

Lashley also commented ‘We will be making further changes and many upgrades over the coming months to ensure we achieve our goal of offering the best aftersales service on the island.’
