Ford, Sagicor back Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic

Ford, through local agents McEnearneyQuality Inc.(MQI) and Sagicor were the major sponsors for the seventh Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre last Saturday night.

And Marketing Manager at MQI Margaret Hoyte told a press conference held at the company’s Wildey office ahead of the event that the choice of brand behind the Classic was the toughness of Ford vehicles and wished everyone well. 

“Bodybuilders are built tough; the motto behind all Ford vehicle; built Ford tough and that is what can be expected from everyone on the night- toughness”, Hoyte noted.

She had a special welcome for Dexter The Blade’ Jackson, Mr. Olympia 2008 and former Mr.Schoolboy Kezza Goodman-Hinds. now a secondi form student of the Alexander School.

Vice President of Sagicor Roger Spencer in his remarks, said he was pleased to see the quality of the participants entered and wished everyone a great show.

The cast was headed by  Dexter The Blade’ Jackson a late replacement for ten-time Miss Olympia Iris Kyle, but the night belonged to one of Barbados top bodybuilders, Hoskins ‘Biscuit’ Worrell who grabbed his sixth title at the Darcy Beckles Invitational Classic, now in its seventh year.

 Second place went to the muscular figure of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Garvin Phillips and former Mr.Barbados Doriell Coulthrust placed third.

Jamil Jones carried off the Men’s Physique title, while Ryan Haynes was second and Trinidad and Tobago’s Rocky Kewley finished third.

In the womens’ categories, Ramona Morgan won the Body Fitness division, while in the Bikini Fitness, Domini Alleyne captured the bikini title and Shakira Doughlin was second ahead of third place Abeni Procope from Trinidad.
