Mazda BT-50: A tougher looking example

The Mazda BT-50

Mazda’s latest BT-50 the same, but different.

Now in its seventh year since introduction, the second-generation is has been co-developed on the same underpinnings as its successful partner the Ford Ranger, but the latest programme brings a tougher looking example with better appeal than before.

Gone are some of the softer lines and SUV-like appearance for a more tough-truck look and boxier jawline, while not a comprehensive design change, its subtilties are noticeable when viewed alongside each other.

It has the strength and features that you expect from a leading member of the family with all the important things, such as a large capacity tray and the ability to tow a massive 3,500kg.

And putting it through its paces, the squared-off face on a tougher looking front bar are more striking. Fitting within almost the exact dimensions of the existing bumper the engineering and design team has done well to transform what they had to work with.

However, the range adds extra kit including better safety, with the addition of a 7.0-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a reversing camera as standard on every model. All the strength and space you need and available at local dealers, McEnearneyQuality Incorporated (MQI)
